Maternity Shared Care GP Alignment Training

This seminar is appropriate for General Practitioners (GP), GP Registrars and Midwives.

This practical seminar is tailored for Practitioners that provide maternity care to women within the Redlands and other South Brisbane catchments.

• GPs completing this seminar, including the Q&A, meet the training requirement for alignment to the antenatal shared care program.
• GPs completing this seminar, including the Q&A need to also complete a 30 minute online bridging option as a specific training requirement for Mater Mother’s Hospital (MMH).

Please note that during late 2020, Metro South Health service will require GPs providing antenatal shared care for women at Logan, Beaudesert and Redland hospitals to complete an Alignment or similar program. GPs are advised to register for the earliest seminar to avoid waiting times for training.

Learning Outcomes:

• Improve knowledge of online evidence-based practice guidelines and resources
• Improve awareness of the facilities/services that are available to pregnant women
• Update knowledge of recommended antenatal screening
• Improve bilateral communication and referral processes
• Identify the principles that apply to prescribing in pregnancy
• Refresh neonatal examination skills

This education forms an Accredited Activity under the RACGP QI&CPD program. Catergory 1- 40 points, activity number: 92966, 2017-2019 triennium.
